Usually specified for heating and hot water together, with a cooking range if the property is small.
Filled to the 80% limit this vessel holds about 200 gallons of propane — roughly 18 million BTU, or about 848 lb of product. Against a steady 100,000 BTU/hr load that is roughly 8 days of continuous running before it needs refilling.
Against the 200 gallon it buys real headroom; against the 320 it saves footprint and pad. That trade-off is usually decided by the site, not the load.

Getting it on site
Above-ground siting is the straightforward option: no excavation, no anode bag, and every valve and the gauge are reachable without opening a dome. It sits on legs or saddles on a level pad and can be inspected in place for the whole of its service life.
This is supplied as equipment, not as an installed service. NFPA 58 and your local authority govern how and where it may be set.
Certification and paperwork
This is a certified used vessel. It carries a live stamp, it has passed a pressure test, and the data plate photograph and test paperwork go out with the invoice. What it does not do is look new — there will be surface marks, and we photograph them rather than shoot around them.
Valves and fittings are inspected as a set. A vessel goes out with a working gauge and a relief valve in date, or it does not go out.
Running costs
Running a tank down to the reserve costs money twice: emergency delivery rates, and the risk of an interruption at the worst possible time.
Before you order
Size against the real load, not the optimistic one. A vessel one size too small costs more across ten years of refills than the larger one did on the day you bought it.
Think about the delivery vehicle as well as the tank. A site a bulk truck cannot reach turns a cheap refill into an expensive one for the rest of the tank’s life.
