Tanks that have been filled, installed or buried cannot be returned — that is a transport regulation, not a preference. The full conditions are below.

Effective date: September 2026

Propane tanks are regulated safety equipment, so returns have to satisfy federal transport rules as well as our own standards. The policy below is written to be the same policy we actually apply.

1. Return window

You may request a return within 28 calendar days of delivery. To qualify the vessel must be:

  • Unused, unfilled and in original undamaged condition
  • Completely empty, sealed and safe for transport
  • Accompanied by proof of purchase

2. What cannot be returned

  • Any tank that has been filled, even partially — once propane has been introduced, the vessel cannot legally travel as an empty and cannot re-enter stock
  • Any tank that has been installed, buried or commissioned
  • Used and scrap vessels
  • Custom or built-to-order units, including skid and transport builds
  • Clearance items, opened accessories and installed components

These are transport-regulation limits, not commercial preferences.

3. How to start a return

Call +1 210 465 3807 or email info@propanetanksupplyco.com with your order number and photographs of the vessel. We issue a return authorisation and arrange collection — do not send a tank back without one, because a carrier may refuse it and we cannot accept an unannounced delivery of a pressure vessel.

4. Return freight and restocking

Return freight is at the customer’s cost unless the return is our error or the vessel arrived damaged or mis-specified. An authorised return of an unused, unfilled tank is subject to a restocking charge of 15% to cover re-inspection and re-certification.

5. Damaged or incorrect on arrival

This is the important one: note the damage on the delivery paperwork before you sign, then call us the same day. That note is what makes a freight claim possible. If it is our error or a transit loss, we cover return freight, there is no restocking charge, and we replace or refund in full — your choice.

6. Refunds

Approved refunds are issued within 5–10 business days of the returned vessel being received and inspected, by the same method you paid. Cryptocurrency refunds are returned in the same asset at the market rate on the day the refund is issued, which will not be the rate on the day you paid — that risk sits with the customer, and it is the trade-off for the 2% discount.

7. Cancelling before dispatch

Cancel before the tank is dispatched and you get a full refund with no charge. Once a vessel is on a carrier the return policy above applies.
