Description

A vessel this size changes how a property buys propane: bulk deliveries, better pricing, and a long buffer against supply interruption.

It supports several heavy appliances at once, or a seasonal process load that would flatten a domestic tank.

Filled to the 80% limit this vessel holds about 800 gallons of propane — roughly 73 million BTU, or about 3,392 lb of product. Against a steady 100,000 BTU/hr load that is roughly 30 days of continuous running before it needs refilling.

In our range it sits between the 500 gallon and the 1,150 gallon. If the load is borderline, the 1,150 is the safer buy and the freight is the same either way.

Specification

  • Total capacity: 1,000 gallons
  • Fillable volume: approximately 800 gallons
  • Filled product weight: approximately 3,392 lb
  • Heat content at full fill: approximately 73 million BTU
  • Installation: Above ground
  • Certification: ASME and DOT stamped
  • Condition: Certified used — inspected and pressure tested
  • Fuel: Propane / LPG

Siting notes

It needs a level, stable base and code clearances from buildings, boundaries and sources of ignition. Beyond that, an above-ground installation is as simple as propane storage gets.

We supply and deliver; we do not install. A propane vessel must be set and commissioned by a licensed propane professional under NFPA 58 and your local code.

Condition and certification

A used vessel with its certification intact. We check the stamp, test the shell, replace what fails and photograph the result. Cosmetically it has a history; structurally it has been proven.

Service valve, fill valve, relief valve, float gauge and vapour connection are all checked before dispatch, and anything that does not pass is replaced rather than nursed along.

The economics

Owning the tank rather than leasing it means you choose the supplier. That single change is usually worth more over five years than the difference in purchase price between capacities.

Worth knowing before you buy

Tell us the delivery ZIP when you enquire and we will quote the tank and the freight in the same reply, including any access surcharge — not after you have paid.

Ask what the regulator and first-stage arrangement will be. The tank is only half the specification, and the wrong regulator will starve appliances the vessel could easily supply.
