Filled to the 80% limit this vessel holds about 256 gallons of propane — roughly 23 million BTU, or about 1,085 lb of product. Against a steady 100,000 BTU/hr load that is roughly 10 days of continuous running before it needs refilling.
The next size down is 250 gallons and the next up is 325. Stepping up costs less than most people assume once freight is counted only once.

Siting and installation
Set on a prepared pad, an above-ground vessel is the cheapest to install and by a distance the easiest to service. The gauge is readable from the ground and a technician can reach every fitting without lifting anything.
Setting and commissioning must be done by a licensed propane professional in line with NFPA 58 and local code. Ask us if you need a name in your area.
Condition and certification
The exact condition and specification are confirmed in writing before you pay, along with the test record for the vessel itself.
Valves and fittings are inspected as a set. A vessel goes out with a working gauge and a relief valve in date, or it does not go out.
Refills and running costs
Larger vessels are cheaper to fill per gallon because suppliers price on delivery efficiency. A part-load top-up costs more per gallon than a bulk fill, every time.
Worth knowing before you buy
If you are between two capacities, go up. A tank that never drops below about 30% refills more cheaply per gallon and spends less of its life on the supplier’s emergency list.
Ask what the regulator and first-stage arrangement will be. The tank is only half the specification, and the wrong regulator will starve appliances the vessel could easily supply.
