Description

The practical minimum for anyone who wants their own gas rather than a rental bottle and a monthly trip to swap it.

Expect to run one burner, one heater or one small appliance from it at a time.

Filled to the 80% limit this vessel holds about 46 gallons of propane — roughly 4 million BTU, or about 195 lb of product. On a 30,000 BTU/hr appliance that is around 140 hours of burn time from a full fill.

The next size down is 24 gallons and the next up is 100. Stepping up costs less than most people assume once freight is counted only once.

Technical details

  • Water capacity: 57 gallons
  • Fillable volume: approximately 46 gallons
  • Product weight when full: approximately 195 lb
  • Energy held when full: approximately 4 million BTU

  • Fuel: Propane / LPG

Getting it on site

Above ground means the vessel can be repainted, re-valved and re-certified in place. Over a thirty-year life that accessibility is worth more than the visual advantage of burying it.

This is supplied as equipment, not as an installed service. NFPA 58 and your local authority govern how and where it may be set.

Condition and documentation

Condition is confirmed on the invoice. Whichever we ship, it is stamp-verified, pressure tested, and documented for the specific unit you receive.

Every fitting is checked against the vessel’s specification, and the relief valve date is confirmed before dispatch.

Worth knowing before you buy

Order ahead of the season if you can. Everyone specifies propane storage in the first cold week, and that is the worst week to be waiting on freight.

Think about the delivery vehicle as well as the tank. A site a bulk truck cannot reach turns a cheap refill into an expensive one for the rest of the tank’s life.
